How to Start a Team and Register for Lauren’s Run

Interested in participating in Lauren’s Run but not sure how to get started?  We can help!

How to Start a Team:

First organize a team for the Team Challenge of at least 10 people and choose a team captain.  Teams may include any combination of runners, walkers and tot trotters.

Be creative! Awards will be given to teams with the most pre-registered participants, the team that raises the most money and the team with the most spirit. Teams are made up of 10 or more people running or walking together.  Each team member is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100.  Team members may include friends, family, neighbors, co-workers–anyone who wants to get involved!  Team members do not have to attend the run to participate in raising money for your team.  Be sure to register with the correct team name, choose a Team Captain and set a fundraising goal!

Recruiting Team Members: Ask all of your friends and family to join your team.  Place posters around schools (with permission), place an article in the school newsletter and include information on the school website, and challenge other schools to enter a team!

How to Register:

-Teams or individuals may register online at www.firstgiving.com/curechildhoodcancer

-Click on the “Get Started” Button on the CURE Childhood Cancer Firstgiving page.

-Select Lauren’s Run and CURE Annual Picnic

-Select “Yes Register Online Now” and hit continue

-Choose your registration type by putting “1” in the Qty box

-After you have read the Waiver, check the “I have read and agree to the above waiver” box and hit continue

-If you already have a Firstgiving account, Log in using your name and password.  If not select “I am new to this site” and hit continue.  (If you hit I am new to this site, it will prompt you to set up an account with your name and password.  You will need to have an account to set up a team and fundraising page for Lauren’s Run)

-Choose who you are registering (yourself or someone else) and hit continue

-If your team captain has already created you team, you may search for that team and join it, or you may create a new team.

-After you have joined a team, you may create your own fundraising page.  The computer will pick a URL that is available and you thenclick continue.

-Your fundraising page has now been created and you may click on edit my page to add any pictures or information you’d like.

-Now start your fundraising!
