CURE Childhood Cancer and Remember the Rainbows held their first collaborative retreat on July 25th and 26th at the Stone Mountain Inn for families who had lost a child to cancer.
Families who had endured an overwhelming loss were invited to spend time with one another and connect. 51 families enjoyed the activities of the weekend, including arts and crafts, games, swimming, karaoke, a water balloon contest, and a laser show.
“We were so grateful to have the opportunity to partner with Remember the
Rainbows in providing this relaxing weekend to families and to share in honoring their children,” says Meri Long, CURE’s Director of Patient and Family Services.
One mother recounts, “It meant so much to us to spend time with families that have gone through what we have and still be able to smile and have a great time.”
